Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Product Manager/Product Lead to spearhead the Payments Squad. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of payments infrastructure, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional user experiences and driving measurable impact. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of building scalable products and a deep understanding of UX and conversion optimization. Familiarity with web3 and crypto-related products is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a clear and coherent product strategy for the payment strategic pillar, prioritizing effectively to deliver impactful features and functionalities.
- Own and drive metrics to define success and guide decision-making.
- Demonstrate initiative in leading product strategy, collaborating across the organization to gather ideas and solve problems.
- Maintain a roadmap aligned with the strategy, articulate feature briefs, and prioritize features, bugs, and technical debt.
- Work closely with the engineering team to gain a comprehensive understanding of problems, opportunities, and potential solutions.
- Manage stakeholders effectively, maintaining open lines of communication and delivering both positive and challenging messages.
- Deeply understand customer needs through research and data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Self-starter with a proven ability to thrive in a hyper-growth environment.
- Open mindset to balance the requirements of multiple teams and drive maximum benefit for the business.
- Analytical approach with a keen understanding of relevant metrics.
- Demonstrable experience in the Merchant Acceptance or Acquiring area, working with payment gateways, providers, orchestrators, alternative payment methods, mobile money, or Open Banking solutions.
- Track record of building successful products, preferably in FinTech, utilizing data, customer feedback, and identifying market opportunities.
- Experience shipping products in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Crypto, Payment Treasury, Lending, Investments, etc., while adhering to regulations and leveraging regulatory changes.
- Engineering/Computer Science background or API understanding (desirable but not necessary).
- Partnership Manager experience, including dealings with external suppliers and third-party software, ideally involved in contract negotiation for product development.
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills, capable of pitching solutions to C-level executives.
